Product Overview
Bezerk RC interpretation of the Cliff Lett Yokomo 4wd from the 1991 World's in Detroit. This is the Lipo version for use with a standard shorty pack. We have designed two positions for the battery mounts, one in close for heavier packs and one out wide similar to the four cell position. Use either the standard battery mounts that come with the standard kit or opt for our battery cradle. Chassis alone can be used as an upgrade to the kit chassis for either car. The original NiMh version here.
Bezerk was inspired to build something a little different for the Australian Vintage Bash 3.0 that was held in 2024 at the Knox off-road track. The Cliff's car seemed to be one of the forgotten or rarely rebuilt cars, so we took on the challenge to replicate it from the few photos available.
To make it accessible for everybody, we based it on the re-release 870c or the now 91 Works car rather than going down the much harder original period parts path.
To capture the look of the original car we opted for the Team Associated front and rear shocks ( 0.71" front, 1.32" rear) and shaped the towers to suit. Hole geometry has been optimised to suit the AE shock lengths. Original car had the front shocks mounted behind the tower, so we include spacers to fit between the tower to space it forward and screws to suit to fix it in place. This also places the shocks at a much more favourable angle as viewed from the side. Standard thickness is 2.5mm to suit the look, note in the comments section at checkout if you want thicker.
IF using the 870c as your base car we'd suggest running uncut front arms and running either JC Racing longer driveshafts or the 91 driveshafts once available. If using the 91 Works car as a base, you're good to go!
Lett car had vertically mounted inner balls for the camberlinks and a steering brace built into the same brace. A 1.5mm spacer is included to fit between the topdeck and the motor mount if you're running these braces front and rear as it will raise the topdeck by the same amount.
Topdeck includes the upper rectangular plate for belt adjustment and longer screws to reach the layshaft holder.
Draglink for the steering has been optomized to suit. Standard alloy parts for the servo mount has been utilised to keep it real simple, no servo tape required! A mirrored upper plate is required due to slight differences.
We engraved the cell slots to give a nod to the original yet allow for taping in your electronics.
Made from a mixture of 1.5 - 2.0 - 2.5 and 3.0mm black FRP, we cut and hand finish every component.
